    This tour combines the history, art, architecture and mysticism that highlight this surprising destination in southeastern Brazil. It is not by chance that Minas Gerais is one of the most visited states in Brazil. Its very old cities, which date back to the colonial period (17th century), reflect the country’s history through its buildings, mansions and churches, so much so that many of them are considered World Heritage by UNESCO. Nevertheless the natural beauty makes the region even more exuberant with canyons, waterfalls, mountains and valleys that complete Minas Gerais’ landscape.

    Discover the historic cities of Minas Gerais that were once the scene of the incessant race in search of gold and intense slave labor and that today safeguard an important part of Brazil’s historic heritage: Ouro Preto, Mariana, Congonhas, São João del Rei and Tiradentes.

    The itinerary ends with a few days in the charming São Tomé das Letras, to relax and let the good energy of the rocks flow in this small town in the Serra da Mantiqueira. Considered one of the highest cities in the country at 1,440 meters above sea level, São Tomé is home to numerous trails and waterfalls, ideal for those looking ecotourism lovers.

Day 1

Arrival at Belo Horizonte airport and meeting with the guide. Departure to Ouro Preto. Upon arrival, check-in at the accommodation and rest of the day free to explore the surroundings and experience the best of Minas Gerais cuisine.

Day 2

Breakfast at the accommodation and departure to visit Ouro Preto, a cultural heritage of Humanity. The city reminds the Brazilian colonial period, when the gold rush made Ouro Preto one of the most important cities in the country. During the tour amidst the many churches, mansions and townhouses, the traveler will be able to appreciate important traces of colonial architecture. Here also reside works by some of the most expressive names in national art, such as Aleijadinho and Mestre Ataíde. Later, transfer to Mariana, the state's first capital. Mariana, like Ouro Preto, preserves part of Brazilian colonial history, especially linked to the Gold Cycle in Minas Gerais. With a walk through the historic center, visitors can enjoy beautiful churches, colonial mansions, small museums. After the visits, return to the accommodation and free night.

Day 3

Breakfast at the pousada, check-out and departure from Ouro Preto to São João Del Rey. On the way there will be a stop to visit Congonhas, in particular the Senhor Bom Jesus de Matosinhos Sanctuary (UNESCO Heritage), and the Jardim dos Passos formed by 6 chapels, which represent the Way of the Cross. Then continue to São João del Rei and on arrival, visit of the Church of São Francisco de Assis, which dates from the second half of the 18th century. and the modern Tancredo Neves Memorial. After the visit, transfer to Tiradentes. Located at the foot of the Serra de São José, Tiradentes preserves the history and architecture of the 18th century in its buildings, churches and bucolic settings that transform it into one of the most charming destinations in Minas Gerais. Visit of the Santo Antônio Headquarters, São José de Botas Fountain and Largo dos Forras. At the end of the visits, check-in at the inn in Tiradentes and free night.

Day 4

Breakfast at the inn, check-out and departure towards São Tomé das Letras. Visit the Vale das Borboleta waterfall and Ladeira do Amendoim. Then, arrive in the historic center of the village and city tour, visiting the famous Piramide, Mirante and Pedra das Witches.

Day 5

Breakfast at the inn and departure to visit the Eubiose, Flavio and Véu da Noiva waterfalls. Then, visit the witch's cave, labyrinth and swimming pool. After the visits, return to the inn and free night.

Day 6

Breakfast at the accommodation, check-out and departure to Instituto Inhotim, home to one of the largest foundations of contemporary art in Brazil and one of the largest outdoor art centers in the world. After the visit, transfer to Belo Horizonte, check-in at the hotel and free night.

Day 7

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out and transfer to Belo Horizonte airport.
